Creationism & Evolutionism: First Day

Posted in Thoughts on January 21, 2008 by Sirione

Nope, it’s not Creationism (Bible) VERSUS Evolutionism (Science), rather it’s Creationism AND Evolutionism.

I came across this topic (again) because of some email and since I have my own theory (lol), I will try to reconcile both, though some may not be agreeable to this… or maybe I’m the only one agreeable to this.

Before I begin, let me say that I am a believer of a supreme being but not a believer of any religion, though I used to be Catholic once. The Bible is a great collection of beautiful stories with lots of moral lessons in them. But for me, it is not a book for spiritual guidance. It is just a book of stories with which we can learn from, be inspired with, etc.

Anyway, I think that Creationism really has no real basis except maybe that book (the Bible), while Evolutionism has a lot of basis, though it is not perfect considering some things are still missing. I think it is quite stupid to reject Evolutionism just because it isn’t in the bible. But my theory will try to assume that it is actually written in some way in the Bible. Hihihi.

First of all, I think that the term “DAY” is relative. For us, it is about 24 hours because of the way Planet Earth revolves around the sun. But if we were in Saturn or some other planet, a “DAY” is not 24 hours, could be more or less. So for Mr. God, who is not on any particular planet as he is the ruler of the universe, not just Planet Earth, a “DAY” could be a hundred million years or so. It might even vary if he skips from planet to planet or whatever. Ehehe joke. Anyway, I think the term “DAY” just signifies that for Mr. God, creation happened easily, just as a “DAY” for us Earthlings passes by easily. But let us note that for Mr. God, a hundred million years may pass by just as easily for him. He is a supreme being. His sense of time is not the same as ours. A hundred million years may just be like a “DAY” for him. And so seven “DAYS” may be seven hundred million years. The Creationism Phase may have happened within the course of hundreds  of hundreds of years.

Okay, so in the beginning, Mr. God created the “HEAVEN” and the “EARTH”. “HEAVEN” may signify “SPACE”, and “EARTH” may signify “SOLID, LIQUID, GAS, etc.” so I think that meant scientifically that “SPACE” and “MATTER” existed since the beginning of time.

Then Mr. God said “Let there be light” and there was the Big Bang. :D

Anyway, the Big Bang was an explosion, and with explosions, light was naturally emitted, as well as some fiery orbs like stars were created (among other things). So this was probably when light started to exist, with all the stars around. And because these stars were massive, they pulled in some bodies (planets, etc.) towards them by their gravity and these bodies began to revolve around them (thus, the existence of solar systems). These bodies also have their own gravities, making them rotate. And because they rotate, some parts some times cannot be hit by the light of the sun/star they are revolving around. So for these bodies, in certain places on them, there is light, which is “DAY” (.. er different from “24 hours”) and there is darkness, which is “NIGHT”. So this may be what is meant by that statement in the Bible that Mr. God divided “DAY” and “NIGHT”.

So, well, these happened during the first “DAY” of Mr. God’s Creation Phase.

Waaah this is already too long! There’s still FIVE days to go (thank goodness seventh day is rest!). I will post maybe later about the other five. … or not =/ But anyway, I think you got my point already. Bible and Science do not have to be different. They may be talking about the same damn thing but just told in different manners.

It may be that whoever wrote the book of Genesis may have gotten some special insight (maybe from Mr. God?) about evolution and wrote it down according to how he understood it. Note that back in those days, Science was very vague and nobody could really explain anything, especially in a scientific manner, so they could only assume that some supreme being must have created/given those things. So this may be his way of explaining the beginning of the world from some special insight he might have gotten from Mr. God.

Anyway this is just my theory. I’ll try to search the internet for a theory that’s similar to this, like maybe a scientific journal or thesis or something.

“Wind” Song Analysis

Song Analysis
“Wind” by Akeboshi

Cultivate your hunger before you idealize.

—> Understand your passion before you idealize

Motivate your anger to make them all realize.

—> Don’t be overcome by anger or people won’t understand you

Climbing the mountain, never coming down.

—> Learn from your mistakes, don’t repeat them
—> (Haha, basig pataka ra ni)

Break into the contents, never falling down.

 —> (Huh??)
—> You may fall apart, but never fall down (?)
—> (or) Never give up even if you fall apart (?)

My knee is still shaking, like I was twelve,

—> I still get nervous, like when i was twelve

Sneaking out of the classroom, by the back door.

—> When I snuck out of the classroom through the back door

A man railed at me twice though, but I didn’t care.

 —> I was scolded but I didn’t care

Waiting is wasting for people like me.

—> Because waiting [for the class to finish] is a waste of my time

Don’t try to live so wise.

 —> Don’t be too idealistic

Don’t cry ’cause you’re so right.

—> Don’t be so affected if you don’t get your way, even if you think you are right.

Don’t dry with fakes or fears,

—> Don’t be so affected by your fears or by people’s pretentiousness
—> (or) Don’t become jaded by your fears or by people’s pretentiousness
—> (Lol kasabut ko unsa iya gi mean pero murag sayup ang grammar!)

‘Cause you will hate yourself in the end.

—> Because you will end up hating yourself

You say, “Dreams are dreams.

—> You say that dreams are foolish

“I ain’t gonna play the fool anymore.”

—> And you don’t believe in them

You say, “‘Cause I still got my soul.”

—> Because you prefer to believe in yourself

Take your time, baby, your blood needs slowing down.

 —> Calm down

Breach your soul to reach yourself before you gloom.

—> Understand yourself before you make yourself depressed

Reflection of fear makes shadows of nothing, shadows of nothing.

—> Because you might be depressed over nothing

You still are blind, if you see a winding road,
‘Cause there’s always a straight way to the point you see.

 —> Don’t complicate things.

* Hmm… based on my analysis murag igo man ko ani uy. Post if you have a different interpretation.
